Just because you are trying to lose weight doesn't mean you have to go get a gym membership. If you live in a small apartment or you have little space in your home, you may not have room for a large piece of equipment like a home gym or weight sets. Many pieces of equipment fold up for storage, but if you have to move the coffee table or sofa every time you want to fold out the treadmill, you are less likely to exercise on a regular basis. Always buy equipment that you can easily accommodate.
Exercise bikes have been around for decades and have improved in design and function over this time. They have been proven to offer weight loss and other benefits if used regularly. They are great for cardio work, while limiting impact to your knees.

If the house that you live in isn't very big or you have limited space in your home, you may not be able to set up a large piece of equipment like a home gymnasium or weight sets.
You can also go to the local supercentre and grab some cheap but effective equipment. A great way to tone up and burn some calories is by using a hoola hoop. This low cost device is something people don't often think about. Just start off by using it for a short while at a time. Then, gradually build up to at least ten minutes total in any one day. You can break it down into two minute mini-sessions with a 30 second break in between each one.
If you intend on toning up your abs then the ab roller or ab wheel is an item you need to get. All you need to do is grab hold of the handles with your hands, whilst on your toes or knees, wheel it out in front of you. Then back. You will need to decide how many repetitions you'll need to do as we all have different fitness levels. I dare say it won't be as many as you think. To start off with it can be quite difficult but it won't take you long to get used to them.
