4 Healthy Weight Loss Tips That Really Work

halfway through

There are so many gimmicks and fad diets out there that are simply terrible for your body. They promise to make you thin, but at what cost? Usually, at a very steep price to your health. Not only that, most people who go on diets cannot sustain them and actually put on more weight than when they first started. To keep the weight off for years and hopefully the rest of your life, you need to have a very different viewpoint about weight loss and dieting. So, I have included a few great weight loss tips in the article that should make a very big difference in your life if you apply them. They are simple, common sense things, but will get you amazing results...

Weight Loss Tips

1) Eat your Vegetables First - And no, french fries do not count as vegetables. Here is what you do... steam a whole pot of vegetables (or grill them with no oil or salt). Simple, do not add anything to them. Just eat them plain. Eat a whole plate of them. Okay, when you are done, have your other meal. Chances are you will eat a lot less of your unhealthy food, because now you will be pretty full from incredibly healthy food. And guess what, the steamed vegetables have no fat, very few calories and extremely high in nutrients and other healthy compounds that fight virtually every disease we know about.

2) Chew slowly and stop talking - One of the reasons we eat so much is because we do not pay ANY attention to our food. We talk or watch television, unaware of how much we are actually shoving in our mouths. Actually slow done and chew your food slowly and enjoy what you are eating. The more you chew, the easier it will be for you to digest your food. And the slower you chew and the more you pay attention to the food, the more you will actually enjoy it! And of course, if you eat slower, it will be much harder to overeat the way most of us do. Simple awareness can be life changing.

3) Stop yourself halfway through an unhealthy meal - No matter what, stop yourself half way through your meal. Push the plate away and do not eat another bite for at least 5 minutes. Just see what happens. 9 times out of 10, you will feel very full after those 5 minutes. Why? It takes a little time for the brain to get the messages from the stomach that it is full. But, when you eat too fast, you do not realize that you are already full. Stopping halfway through gives your body a chance to get the message and help you stop the overeating. If after 5-10 minutes you are still hungry, then by all means keep eating, but remember to eat slowly.

4) Think about this equation > nutrients/calories - Remember this simple equation and you pretty much cannot get lost. In other words, if you are trying to figure out if a food is healthy or not, just ask yourself this question. Is this food high in nutrients and low in calories? If the answer is yes, then it is very probably an excellent food choice. If it is low in nutrients and high in calories, then it is most likely not good for you (certainly in high quantity). It is so simple and will help guide you to much healthier eating habits.
